JEFFREY D. STEWART
Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs
Loews Hotels

Jeffrey Stewart is the Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs for Loews Hotels. In addition, he serves as Chief of Staff to the Chairman & CEO, Jonathan M. Tisch. Previously, as Director of Development, Jeff was responsible for coordinating the construction and development of the Loews Philadelphia Hotel, a $125 million conversion of the national historic landmark PSFS building.

Jeff also plays an active role in the travel and tourism industry at large. He is on the Board of Directors of the Travel Business Roundtable, an organization of industry leaders and executives who work to promote the travel and tourism industry among elected officials and the media. A regular spokesperson for the industry, he has testified before the United States Congress and has been quoted in leading publications on the importance of a vibrant travel and tourism industry.

Following September 11, 2001, Jeffrey served as Staff Director of New York Rising, a special emergency task-force set up by NYC & Company, to stabilize and revive the $25 billion local travel and tourism industry. At the request of Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s office, he served as the Executive Director of the New York City Democratic National Convention Host Committee 2004. Jeff is also on the Steering Committee of the Association for a Better New York (ABNY) and was recently recognized as a “Rising Star” in the travel and tourism industry by Travel Agent magazine.

Prior to joining Loews Hotels, Jeff was a senior aide to United States Senator Charles Schumer. One of the leaders of the upset-winning campaign in 1998, he served as Finance Director, raising more money than any Democratic challenger in history.

Jeff graduated from Tufts University in Medford, MA and from Fordham University School of Law in New York City. Following law school, he served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of New York

An original founder and co-chairman of New Yorkers Against Gun Violence PAC, he currently is on the Board of Advisors of PAX, the country’s largest non-political organization working to prevent gun violence.
